EAGLES

Guido Dettoni shaped a handheld sculpture evoking an Eagle. Later he reproduced it, but materializing its reflection like in a mirror. He reached then two EAGLES, left and right.

EXPOSICION HALL “INFANT PERE”

Hospitalet de l’Infant – Tarragona 1993

This has been the first public presentation of the sculpture EAGLE, at that time not mirrored.

This exhibition was also the moment to present the first technological  AQUARIUM. It contained two dancing  EAGLE sculptures,  one being the same as the other.

This AQUARIUM was colloquially described by the author as a “prehistorical television

Poetry written by Carles Duarte in 1992 for the sculpture EAGLES within the AQUARIUM.

CHURCH OF “SANT ANTOINET”

Palma de Mallorca 2001 / 2002

From these original sculptures, the artist conceived and realized an installation/experience which took place over one year at the Church of “Sant Antoinet” in Palma de Mallorca. It was sponsored by the Palma’s Town Council, the Majorca’s Council, the Balearic Government.

The public was invited to a sensory experience: sight, touch, hearing, and smell. At the entrance one could read, as a riddle:

TO CONTAIN THAT WHICH CONTAINS YOU
SEEING IT IN DANCE AND UNION
ACCOMPANIED BY FRAGRANCE AND MUSIC

The proposal of the artist went further than the hands and the act of CONTAINING.
He shaped the two Eagles enlarging them to the extent to contain us, by sitting and laying within. Its metaphysic meaning “to contain that which contains us” becomes physical and tangible.

The DANCE took place in the AQUARIUM displaying a real animation of tangible shapes, produced by invisible streams. The dance of the two mirrored

EAGLES separating and uniting randomly were showing us the infinite. The UNION was represented in a 3D animation, giving shape to the impossible.

From hands to mind up to senses. The dance within the AQUARIUM along with the union with the 3D animation at a large screen inspired the composition of the MUSIC by Bartomeu Artigues.

The memory of the place where the exhibition took place inspired the FRAGRANCE produced with Majorcan plants.

Several music and dance performances took place within the scope of the exhibition/experience.

Painting and writing, inspired by the exhibition were executed by Majorcan scholars following a didactical proposal and playing with an interactive application.
