HOME ART GALLERY Iconic Sculptures TAU TAU’S CANE
TAU carved in mahogany-wood, Cane in chestnut-wood.
Height 137 cm | 54 in
St. Francis of Assisi adopted the TAU as his distinctive sign, the symbol of salvation according
to the prophecy of Ezekiel.
On the occasion of the Jubilee of the year 2000, in Santiago de Compostela, Guido Dettoni
conceived and created the Pilgrim’s Cane with the Pilgrim’s Cross at the top, which he sculpted
himself.
Now, on the occasion of the Jubilee of 2025, in Assisi, Guido Dettoni has conceived and
created another cane, which on its top presents the TAU sculpted by him. It is a cane which is
an extension of the sculpture, so that it reaches into the earth and connects with it.
It has been a long process to make regular production possible, so we are very happy that we
have succeeded.
